Membran filtration & Reverse osmoses

Membrane technology generally describes the mechanical separation processes with the help of permeable membranes.

Depending on the pore size and product water quality to be achieved, a distinction is made between

  • Microfiltration (MF)
  • Ultrafiltration (UF)
  • Nanofiltration (NF)
  • Reverse Osmosis (RO)

To meet our high demands for the best drinking water quality, WWSG systems are mainly  equipped with reverse osmosis systems.

Reverse osmosis is a process that removes all solutes in an purely mechanical manner.

Raw water is pressed through a semi-permeable membrane, the pores of which are so fine that all undesirable constituents of the water, such as viruses, bacteria, salts or sugar, are removed from it.
